The collection includes scrapbook pages and images documenting the design, construction and exhibition of Seafair parade floats sponsored by the Capitol Hill Commercial Club circa 1959-1961.

This collection contains a typescript draft, corrected in ink, of Elisha P. Ferry’s inaugural address as Washington’s first state governor, an undated photograph of Ferry, and a program for his public memorial service. It also includes photocopies of two different handwritten drafts of the same speech, as well as other compiled research material related to the inauguration.

The collection consists of a variety of materials that relate to the retail practices and corporate culture of the Frederick & Nelson chain of department stores, founded in Seattle in 1890.

Photographs taken by Nancie Gee, a Chinese American photographer, for her book Reflections in Pike Place Markets which was published in 1968. The book depicts scenes and people at the market at a time when a significant preservation movement was underway to protect the area’s historic character in the face of redevelopment efforts.

The collection includes photographs of the Pacific Northwest lumber industry.

Correspondence, photographs and other ephemera related to Seattle music teacher, LeEtta Sanders King and her son, Winfield King, who was a local bandleader and a member of the Negro Musicians Union.
