U.S. Naval Station, Commissioned Officers' Mess (Seattle, Wash.), undated

The Seattle Room matchbook collection contains hundreds of covers from businesses throughout Washington State. The majority of the matchbooks are from Seattle and advertise notable places such as the Bon Marche, Bush Garden, Edgewater Inn, Ivar’s, Olympic Hotel, and Space Needle. There are also matchbooks for lesser known coffee shops, gas stations, laundries, grocers, etc. The bulk of the matchbooks appear to be from the 1940s through the 1960s with a smaller assortment of more recent matchbooks from the 1990s and 2000s.
